Works with any image

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP, from your files or the clipboard.

Smaller images, faster pages

Large images are the most common reason a website feels slow. Compressing them re-encodes the pixels with a quality level you choose; at around 75–85% the difference is hard to see, while the file is often half the size or less.

Converting to WebP usually gives the biggest saving and keeps transparency, and every modern browser supports it. Choose JPG for photos that need to work everywhere, and PNG when you need lossless quality. Transparent areas get a white background when saved as JPG.

You can also set a maximum width, which shrinks oversized photos straight from a phone or camera. If a result would be larger than the original, the tool keeps your original file instead.

How to use it

  1. 1Add one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP).
  2. 2Pick the output format and quality, and optionally a maximum width.
  3. 3Compare before and after, and check how much each file saves.
  4. 4Download images one by one, or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Your images never leave your device, and closing the tab discards them.

Which quality should I choose?

75–85% is a good balance for photos and website images. Go higher for images with fine text or sharp edges, lower if file size matters most.

Why is my PNG not getting smaller?

PNG is lossless, so it can only be re-packed, not reduced in quality. Convert it to WebP for a much smaller file that keeps transparency, or to JPG for photos.

Does compressing remove photo information?

Yes. Re-encoding drops hidden metadata such as camera details and GPS location, which also makes the files more private to share.
