Convert PDF to Word
Turn a PDF into an editable Word document. Headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, tables and pictures are rebuilt so you can change the text in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

Word options
Detected structure
Upload a PDF to preview the Word document.
Converted on your device
The PDF becomes a Word file inside this tab, not on our servers.
Real structure
Headings, lists, tables and links become proper Word elements.
Exact look option
Keep every page's appearance as a picture when layout matters.
How the conversion works
The converter reads every word on each page with its position, size and font, then rebuilds the structure: lines are joined into paragraphs, larger or bold lines become headings, bullets and numbers become real Word lists, and text laid out in rows and columns becomes a Word table.
Pictures are placed at their spot in the reading order, links stay clickable, and repeated headers, footers and page numbers are left out so they don't appear in the middle of your text. Two-column pages are read column by column.
If you need the pages to look exactly like the PDF, choose Exact look: each page becomes a picture on its own Word page, which keeps the layout but isn't editable.
How to use it
- 1Upload your PDF.
- 2Choose Editable text (recommended) or Exact look.
- 3Pick all pages or a page range.
- 4Click Convert & Download, then open the .docx in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.
Editable text or Exact look?
- Editable text: real paragraphs, headings, lists and tables you can change. Text flows like a normal Word document, so complex layouts are simplified.
- Exact look: every page as a sharp picture on its own Word page. Perfect appearance, but the text can't be edited.
- Most letters, reports, CVs and contracts convert well in Editable mode.
What converts and what doesn't
Text, font sizes, bold and italic, headings, lists, tables, links and embedded pictures are carried over. Text colour, background shapes, lines drawn as graphics and rotated text are not. Fonts are replaced with a common font of the same size, so line breaks may move slightly.
Scanned PDFs contain pictures of text, not text. The tool warns you about such pages; run the file through OCR PDF first, then convert.
How far it goes
- Up to 500 pages per file and 300 pages per Exact look conversion.
- Files up to 300 MB, depending on your device's memory.
- Tables are found from how text lines up; tables drawn only with lines and few words may come out as paragraphs.
Why it runs in your browser
People convert CVs, contracts and payslips with this, so we built it to run entirely in your browser tab. The PDF and the Word file never pass through our servers, and closing the tab clears everything.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and closing the tab discards them.
Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
Editable mode keeps the structure (headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and images) and font sizes, but text flows like a normal Word document, so magazine-style layouts are simplified. Exact look keeps every page pixel-perfect as a picture, but the text can't be edited.
Can it convert scanned PDFs?
A scanned PDF only contains pictures of pages, with no text inside. Make it searchable with OCR PDF first and then convert it, or use Exact look to get the pages into Word as images.
Which programs can open the file?
The download is a standard .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word 2010 or later, Google Docs, LibreOffice, Apple Pages and WPS Office.
Is PDF to Word free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no watermark. Files of up to 500 pages can be converted, depending on your device's memory.
Why does the font look different?
PDF fonts are often embedded subsets that Word can't reuse, so the converter picks a common font of the same size. Select all text in Word and choose your preferred font if you need to match the original.
Are headers and page numbers kept?
Text repeated at the same spot on most pages, such as running headers, footers and page numbers, is left out so it doesn't interrupt the document. Add them back with Word's own header and footer.
