Original quality

Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and sharp.

Watermarks that protect without hiding the content

A watermark tells readers how a document should be treated, such as a draft or a confidential copy, and makes it obvious where a leaked copy came from. A light, semi-transparent stamp does this without making the page hard to read.

Use a single diagonal stamp for a classic look, or tile the text across the page so it can't simply be cropped out. Opacity between 15% and 30% is usually readable while still clearly visible.

The watermark is drawn on top of each page as text. It is not an image, so the file stays small and the original content underneath is unchanged.

How to use it

  1. 1Upload your PDF.
  2. 2Type the watermark text and choose its colour, size and opacity.
  3. 3Pick diagonal, horizontal or tiled, and which pages to stamp.
  4. 4Click Add Watermark & Download.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and closing the tab discards them.

Can someone remove the watermark?

A determined person with PDF editing software can remove any text watermark. Tiled watermarks are much harder to remove cleanly than a single stamp.

Which characters can I use?

Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation are supported. Scripts like Arabic, Urdu or Chinese are not available in the built-in PDF font.
