Cropped on your machine

Stays vector
Text and graphics remain sharp because nothing is rasterised.
Auto-detect margins
Find the content area of one page or the whole document.
Crop pages without losing quality
Cropping makes PDFs easier to read on phones and e-readers, removes scanner borders, and cuts a figure or receipt out of a larger page. The page content isn't turned into an image, so text stays sharp and selectable.
Drag the corners or edges of the box on the preview, type margins in millimetres or percent, or use Auto-detect to find where the content starts and ends on this page or across all pages. Apply the crop to every page, the page shown, or a range of pages.
Cropping sets the visible area of each page. The trimmed parts are hidden by PDF readers rather than deleted from the file.
How to use it
- 1Upload your PDF.
- 2Drag the crop box or click Auto-detect margins.
- 3Choose which pages to crop.
- 4Click Crop & Download.
Millimetres, percent or auto
- Millimetres: the same distance is trimmed from every page, good for documents with one page size.
- Percent: the trim scales with each page, good for mixed page sizes.
- Auto-detect: finds the non-white area of the current page, or of all pages together for a consistent crop.
- Apply to all pages, the current page, or a range such as 2-5.
Good reasons to crop
- Read A4 papers comfortably on a phone or e-reader by trimming wide margins.
- Remove black scanner edges around scanned pages.
- Cut a receipt, ticket or figure out of a full page.
Important: cropping hides, it doesn't delete
PDF cropping changes the visible area (the crop box), and the content outside it stays inside the file. Someone with editing software can restore it. To remove confidential information for good, use Redact PDF, which deletes the content under the marked areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and closing the tab discards them.
Is the cropped content deleted?
No. PDF cropping hides the area outside the crop box; the content is still inside the file. To remove confidential information permanently, use Redact PDF instead.
Can I crop just one page?
Yes. Choose This page, or type a range of pages. Pages you don't choose keep their original size.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Only the visible area changes; text, images and drawings are kept exactly as they were.
What about rotated pages?
The preview shows pages the way you read them, and the crop is mapped correctly onto pages that are rotated 90, 180 or 270 degrees.
Will the file get smaller after cropping?
Not usually, because the hidden content stays in the file. To make the PDF smaller, use Compress PDF after cropping.
How does auto-detect decide where the margins are?
It renders the page and looks for where the non-white pixels start and stop, then adds a little padding. Scans with grey edges or page shadows can confuse it, so adjust the box by hand if it looks off.
